Beaufort and Skipton Health Service have a Cardiology Service.
Cardiology services are located in:
Beaufort just off the Western Highway on Havelock Street, Beaufort.
A cardiologist is a doctor with special training and skill in finding, treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
What services are provided by a Cardiologist?
The first step is a referral from your GP. The first appointment is an interview to review your medical history. Then the cardiologist will perform a physical examination, which includes listening to the heart. A cardiologist may need to get special tests to diagnose and evaluate your symptoms. There are common tests like an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG). An EKG measures electrical activity from heart contractions and it copies a graph for the cardiologists to review.
The cardiologist appointment is bulk billed and appointments can be made through medical reception. You will need to bring to your appointment your current Medicare and concession cards.
